Siri Carpenter is co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Open Notebook, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help science journalists improve their skills, and is editor of the book The Craft of Science Writing (Feb. 2020). She is an award-winning science journalist and editor whose writing and editorial work has appeared in The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Science, Discover, National Geographic online, Scientific American, bioGraphic, Science News, Science News for Students, and many other publications. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin. She is the 2018-2020 president of the US National Association of Science Writers.
